The deep sand and heavy track makes it hard work for Vinny at his first visit to the MX Park. But in the 4'th race he is starting to get to grips with it all.

Some improved riding skills sees Vinng place 2'nd in all three races. But the fall in an earlier round comes back to bite him and he looses out on 2'nd in the series with 3 points!

One of our goals for this round was to finish all races inside top ten. And in a field of 25 riders Vinny does that with a 9'th, 7'th and a 8'th finish!

At the annual Prize Giving of Hawke's Bay MCC Vinny was awarded the two most sought after Mini trophies for his achievements:

Most Improved Mini 2012-2013
What a boost and confidence builder for Vinny to get this recognition from his club. And an awesome way to end his Mini riding as he is now fully focused on Junior riding in the 85cc class.

The plan was to race in Wanganui, but the unpredictable weather meant we decided to race in a rain-free Wairoa where a field of 18 Juniors on a brilliant private track provided good competition for Vinny.

Vinny got a quarter of a lap in practice before bike stopped working. As we currently have no backup bike that was the end of his participation in the first round of HB's 2 hour series. A faulty stator was found to be the problem. Now finding a second bike as back-up has climbed to the top of the wish list.

First chance for Vinny to race on the Senior Taupo track in 11-12yo 85cc class. On a wet and rainy day Vinny rides hard outside his comfort zone and sadly crashes in each race ending the day in 11'th position.

Vinny races to 9'th, 8'th and 9'th to get 7'th place at the School Challenge in Rotorua in a field of 45 11-12yo 85cc riders.

Vinny has now ended his Mini racing and moved up to Juniors riding his 85cc in all coming meetings. So his 2011 KTM 65sx needs a new home. This bike is fast and strong and has taken him to many podiums.
