We go to practice Flat Track racing in Cambridge
15 April 2023
Cambridge MCC held a well attended Flat Track practice day. No points, no placings. But it shows how much the MX is missed in Cambridge (the land the club had leased for years is not available anymore sadly).

Work get's in the way of Vinny's racing

Vinny has found work he likes: Bar work. But that means working Friday and Saturday nights to sometimes 4am. And with only 2 to 3 hours of sleep before we would drive to a MX meeting,even if close by, it makes it tricky do do both. So at this stage he has decided that work will come first.

2'nd time at a Te Awamutu Club Day and bike did not want to play ball. A faulty gearbox spoils any chances Vinny had to add points.

Our first racing with TAMCC. Vinny takes a fraction to settle in, gets a holeshot wrong and fights hard! All in all a good day of racing!
Central HB MCC Club Round 1

The first round of the new season. We had sorted the issues with the 150sx that developed at NZTT. This was going to be a good day. And it was, even if we always want it to be even better!!
2021 NZ TT
3-4 April 2021
This was our 7'th time at a NZTT. Last year was our best one with a 6'th placing in MX3. Here we were aiming for a 5'th or better. And even after a couple crashes in Race 1 and 2 we were on track. Until Day 2 when things fell apart. But even so we had two good days and we will be back to race in 2022!
CENTRAL HB MARCH CLUB DAY

The 150sx needed some final adjustments after we had done upgrades. But as we have no practice track we can use in HB, we had to use the CHB Club Day to sort the final settings. As result Race 1 was a poor showing, but a 5'th in Race 2 and a 2'nd in Race 3 proved that we are moving in the right direction!

We had been to two practice days since latest CHB Club Day and apart from that there had been no MX for Vinny. But we were keen to get back in to it and as the 150sx is now getting closer to where we want it to be, we even felt that perhaps Vinny had a chance...

Vinny wanted to ride MX3, but he was too fast for that. So in the points race he races in Unders (MX2) and places 6'th of 14 riders
2020 WAIRARAPA CHAMPS IS FUN!

We had done a few Wairarapa Champs in the past. And this one was up there with the best! Two days of racing and two different tracks and friendly atmosphere, What more does a racer need?
2020 NZ TT GOES WELL FOR US!

This was our 6'th NZTT. Vinny had entered in MX3 as this was more about having fun than trying to prove anything. We had 2 days of warm weather and racing. What more did we need?

We had high hopes. But they crashed in Race 1 (literally!). We went home to lick our wounds and a determination to do better next round!

We had agreed that anyone who crashed would today have to sort them self. And also that Vinny would try to get inside top-ten in every race... He did better, much better than that and is now after 2 rounds in a strong position in the MX3 class!

Second race meeting for us and it all looked good for two races. Then arm pump struck (and a lack of engine power). But we are happy as Vinny also now moved up to the "Unders" class (this one is for the top 250f/150 2stroke)
FIRST RACE ON THE 150SX GOES OK

We went racing at Taupo Winter Series Round 1 on 28 June. We were there to do two things:
1. Check how the 150sx handled the racing.
- She did well and it looks like a good match for Vinny!
2. Check how Vinny handled getting back in to racing.
- Vinny had no intention to ride full on. He was there to see if he still wanted to race and to find out if he still tought it was fun. The answer to both these questions were YES! So we are back in to it. But it will take some time before he is ready to challenge for podiums.
WE WILL GO RACING!

The virus is gone and the clubs are again providing their race plans. So we have had a look and decided on two series:
- Central HB Series
- Taupo Winter Series
There will most probably also be a championship or two. But we are really keen to get the 150sx dialed in so Vinny can be competitive in MX2 or MX3. He is not race fit so will take a few meetings before he is all go again. But that is fine. We are just happy to be back!!
At last a bike to race!!!

A 2013 KTM 150sx is the latest of Vinny's weapons. You will see him at club events and TT/Flat Track Champs.
But who knows, he might find his mojo...
